Glal.uk, the lifestyle brand of GL, recently sponsored the EuroPro Glal.UK Worcestershire Masters at the Vale Golf and Country Club on 20th – 22nd July for the second year in a row.
On the day prior, the hottest day ever recorded in the UK, golfers from all over the country took to the course in a Professional Amateur (Pro-Am) tournament. In temperatures that soared to over 37 degrees, teams that included guests of GL played the International Course at The Vale with three amateurs and one professional golfer making up a team.
44 teams across the day played 18 holes either in the morning or the afternoon session, with a prize of £15,000 available to anyone who was lucky enough to score a hole in one. The day gave amateurs a rare chance of experiencing a full round of golf with a pro and pick up any tips. Players enjoyed the recently upgraded course and the chance of playing with a professional.
The EuroPro Glal.uk Worcestershire Masters tournament sees professional golfers compete for a coveted prize over three days. The prestigious tour draws crowds from all over the Midlands to The Vale Golf and Country Club and raised over five thousand pounds for the nominated charity the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust.
Glal.uk were delighted to again be the headline sponsor with GL’s EV-IQ car charging points also on display. The golfers were provided with a GL/Glal.uk branded golf shirt and cap to wear on the day and the high performance, breathable shirt kept them cool on the course.
The EuroPro Tour was a close fought competition with Brandon Robinson-Thompson being crowned as a PGA EuroPro Tour Champion for the first time.
Anthony Ottway, CEO of GL and Glal.uk commented “We are thrilled to have sponsored the Worcestershire Masters and see the tournament flourish this year after having faced restrictions last year. Our guests at the Pro-Am enjoyed this special opportunity to play with a pro and coped admirably with the heat. Later in the week, it was thrilling to watch the EuroPro tournament and we congratulate Brandon Robinson-Thompson on his first victory in the tour.”
